When you look around in your communities and within your inner city all you see is hopelessness, despair and desperation some how with families struggling to remain in middle class you have to ask where is the good christian folks at? Have they became too big to even be bother with the real issues in the inner city, is the sick people on their death beds in hospitals not worthy to have them sit and witness to them, pray them out of sickness, off the brink of death, what about the homeless whom walk the streets at night just wishing for a piece of food, pray and a sense of hope from those that god called to walk this life. Today I had happen to watch this show about an group of preachers in a city where their cries seem to be silent and the level of hope is beyond low and in that moment my mother turned to me and asked what happen to the christian ministry going to the hospital? And I faced her and said simply they don’t do it anymore, nor do they really go to the streets anymore and you have to wonder if the Christians is no longer doing it then, who is? The Catholics are the ones making sure their people and community is good, they go and pray for their sick, give food to their poor, try to create jobs and opportunities for them meanwhile, our small time Christians pastors become mega church bishops while they still have an important assignment from god to complete they become so big they lose focus on what truly matters therefore, making them unapproachable and not in reach for when and if you ever need them. I may say I was truly honored to have ever be related to a powerful woman of god whom would pound the pavement giving away food, daily bread tracks and telling them about her friend Jesus, showing up at the hospital laying her hands on the sick (praying for healing) the love she had for the community and the love she had for all god’s children was remarkable, she was truly the female version of T.D.Jakes of her time.
